I should not be let loose in Boots around Christmas...

Soo...
I was in Boots the other day, just having a general little browse after work... when I spotted this:
Oh dear. (image: Boots.com)
Yep. I purchased.

In total I got:

  • Smallest bottle of Estee Lauder 'Beautiful' they had, think around 30ml - £20.
  • The colour collection shown above - £49.
The collection itself is awesome. Heres the description from the Boots website:

"Estee Lauder - The Makeup Artist Professional Color Collection Contains:
  • Deluxe Eyeshadow Compact with 18 coordinating shades (Ivory Slipper, Silver Bell, Tranquil Moon, Smoky Ember, Candy Crave, Polished Platinum, Enchanted Forest, Hot Cinnamon, Peacock Blue, Sugar Biscuit, Amethyst Spark, French Vanilla, Wild Sable, Nude Fresco, Berry Burst, Safari Green, Tempting Mocha, Provocative Plum)
  • Deluxe Face Compact (Estée Lauder Signature Silky Powder Blush in Nude Rose, Rosewood and Pink Kiss, plus Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer
  • 4 Pure Color Long Lasting Lipsticks (full-size, in Pink Parfait, Tiger Eye, Rose Tea and Bois de Rose
  • Pure Color Gloss (exclusive double-ended gloss with shades Pink Kiss and Plum Divine
  • 3 Artist's Eye Pencils (great for smoky eyes, in SoftSmudge Black, SoftSmudge Brown and Slate Writer
  • Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (full-size 3.4 oz
  • 4 Deluxe Makeup Brushes (Powder, Blush, Lip and Eye
  • Look Book with tips on creating great makeup looks with your new shade
  • Golden Stand-Up Mirror
  • Cosmetic Traveller Case
  • Companion Makeup Case"

Its gorgeous. I love it. I did feel slightly sick at the prospect of the £70 odd quid I spent in one go, the day after payday... but to a makeup junkie such as me its totally worth it. obviously.

By the way, did any of you see 'Piers Morgans Life Stories: Cheryl Cole' last saturday?
I loved it, love her even more every time I see her on TV. I just wanted to sit on the sofa and have a chat and a cuppa with her - <3.
Although, I did worry for my makeup addiction levels when, as she spoke about her horrific malaria experience, I got distracted by her brightly coloured nail polish and spent the next 20 mins wondering what shade it was...
I should really get a life. =]

Thanks for reading!

A tired post.

Hey hey.
Just a short one this evening, mega tired! Been working hard revising all day as I have two exams coming up - one on Saturday morning (I know, how cruel?!) and one on Monday. Cue cramming like mad.

Anyway, I'm being committed and posting nevertheless =D

Today I thought I'd talk about skincare.
I'm currently using the Clinique Anti-Blemish 3 Step System (phew, mouthful!), which comprises:

L/R - Cleansing Foam, Clarifying Lotion, Clearing Moisturiser.

Mummy dearest kindly got this for me Christmas 2009 and I've been using it semi-consistently ever since.
I clearly haven't been using it as regularly as I should as the Clinique Consultant lady suggested I'd need more by the time I came home again at Easter....

...all are still more than half full. Oops.

I guess I'm not the most hardcore skincare user.

I do wish I was better at it, though, as I'm fairly confident consistency is the key to making skincare systems like Clinique work as best as they possibly can. Once exams are over I'll attempt to try and get back on the wagon.

Any other skincare items or systems you swear by? Always love a recommendation.

Night!

Major body envy and a personal hair achievement!

I have wasted today. I should be revising for my university exams, but who would do that when there's so much to distract oneself with on the internet? =]

I have a morning internet routine - a number of websites which I like to peruse while eating breakfast, getting ready etc - one of these is the rather trashy yet delicious cocoperez.com.

During this morning's gander, I stumbled across these photos and developed some serious body envy courtesy of the beautiful Miranda Kerr.

She is quite clearly absolutely bloody gorgeous - check out those legs, the abs, the tan!
No wonder she's a Victoria's Secret Angel.

I find myself wishing I looked half as good as the lovely Miranda, especially with summer (read: bikini time, oh god no) fast approaching.

The boyfriend, however, says she's far too skinny.

There seems to be a massive gap between what women want to look like and what men prefer women to look like (generalisation, I know, but still). According to the press and many an article in women's magazines and online: Men prefer curves.
Hopefully I can get somewhere close to a happy medium.

Now, onto the hair...
I have never been able to master a french plait, neither on myself or friends.
My hair is usually up in a ponytail/bun or hanging loose. Yes I'm lazy.

However, here's what I came up with this morning:

A french plait of all things! Albeit a slightly messy one (having been worn all day) but still a personal hair achievement nevertheless. I was very proud of myself =].

Talk to you soon!

Skint and in desperate need of NARS.

It really isn't a good idea, when your bank account is dry, to look at the NARS website.
I know this through experience, as I did just that this evening.

Result?
NARS Wishlist as long as my arm.

It currently includes:

  • Dolce Vita Lipstick. - my favourite lipstick of all time and the inspiration behind the name of this very blog.
  • Sheer Glow Foundation. - there isn't a beauty blogger out there who doesn't rave about this product. I have to try it.
  • Lola Lola Eyeshadow - after hearing both Laura (lollipop26) and Ingrid (missglamorazzi) talk about this little beauty, I've fallen in love with it's gorgeous deep brown tone.
  • Ashes to Ashes - ditto the above - but this is a lovely grey taupe shade which I'm hoping will bring out my blue eyes.
  • Palettes - Essential Eye, Modern Love, 9947, Douceurs de Paris. - Theres just something about these little palettes and the goodies inside which make me feel happy. I'm easily pleased. =]
  • Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatments - These look so promising and judging by the standard of NARS lipsticks, I've got my fingers crossed I'm right. Please let them be the smooth, moisturising, gorgeous sticks of sheer colour they seem!
I heart NARS. If only it weren't quite so expensive.

What are your favourite NARS products?
